Donald Trump's crackdown on Chinese Apps; TikTok, WeChat banned from App stores in US
On Friday, the US administration said that it would ban Chinese mobile apps TikTok and WeChat from mobile app stores in the US, starting Sunday.
Reports suggest that the existing users will still be able to access TikTok after Sunday. New downloads and upgrades of the app will be prohibited until further orders.
It will also prevent WeChat's users from processing payments and transferring funds to others in the US. It is alleged that both apps collect information about location data, network activity, the users browsing history, and other information about its users.
