Not contempt, but "Unnecessary": High Court on actor Suriya's NEET remark
Madras High Court has ruled that there will be no contempt proceedings against the film star Suriya over his comments linked to the alleged suicide of three medical aspirants ahead of the NEET examination.
The Madras High Court today has termed the actor's comments unnecessary and unwarranted. Tamil actor Suriya on September 13, had said that though courts were passing orders for the students to write exams fearlessly, students committed suicides and stated that parents got suffered after losing their children to an unfair system of tests. There was also a mention that the judge’s translation from Tamil was incorrect in the copy circulated to the media.
