Telangana Liberation Day: Special story on Bairanpally revolt - Sakshi

Warangal: Bairanpally, a village narrates the great tales of hundreds of martyrs who sacrificed their lives fighting against the atrocities of Razakars in 1948. Now, the village stood on news headlines after BJP demanding the government to celebrate 17th September as Telangana Liberation Day. The Burj remained in the mid of the village is the historical evidence showcasing 'Telangana People's Armed Struggle' aka Telangana Sayuda Raithanga Poratam.
During this revolutionary movement, more than 100 communist people martyred on a single day while fighting with Razakars and killed 25 Razakars. As per historians, on 27th August 1948, Razakars attacked Bairanpally village in late night with armed forces after the villagers denied to pay the taxes to the Nizam. Razakara killed more than 100 villagers and women were stripped naked and forced them to play Bhatukamma. Opposition parties slammed the government for ignoring Bairanpally village.
