Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday said in the Legislative Assembly that the new Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2020 would be a threat to 50,000 employees working in TSDiscoms, Transco and Genco. He alleged that the BJP-led NDA government wants to decentralise the power sector. Once the proposed amendments to the Electricity Bill are passed in the Parliament, the chief minister stated that it would have an adverse impact on the power sector in the state. The power sector will function like a private entity just like BSNL, he mentioned.
