Madras HC issues notice to AR Rahman
Madras High Court has issued notice to the prominent music composer AR Rahman over alleged tax evasion. According to the reports, the Oscar-winning music composer has evaded income tax after taking 3.47 crore as remuneration from a UK based company.
The I-T department has alleged that AR Rahman had evaded paying tax on it by asking the British company to directly transfer the remuneration into the account of his charitable trust. The Income-tax department had moved the Madras high court in connection with it. It made the High Court issue a notice to the renowned music composer.
