Minister Botcha responds to protest of Amaravati farmers
Responding to the protest of Amaravati farmers over non-payment of pending lease money, Minister Botcha Satyanarayana said on Thursday that the AP government has released Rs 158 crore for payment of annual lease and Rs 9.73 crore towards pension for two months. Very soon, the lease and pension money will be deposited into the individual accounts of Amaravati farmers, he mentioned. Amaravati farmers including women on Wednesday protested against the state government for keeping lease amount pending from May. The police personnel took the farmers and women into custody for violation of prohibitory orders.
