The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company Moderna has reached the final stage trials in record time. As part of the third phase of the clinical trials, the vaccine, known as mRNA-1273, is likely to be applied to 30,000 adult volunteers who do not have COVID-19. Reports suggest that, if this trial achieves success, then there are chances that the vaccine will be made available by the end of this year.
The vaccine was co-developed by the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company Moderna and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health.
