Curtailed Independence Day celebrations planned due to COVID
For the first time in Indian history, the central government is planning for curtailed Independence Day celebrations due to COVID-19. There will be no participation of the school children in the Independence Day celebration.
This time the Independence Day function at Red Fort in the national capital will see the presence of only 20 percent VVIPs or other such participants. These people will only be able to witness the live speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi compared to previous years.
Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar took stock of the preparations and accordingly the arrangements will be made keeping social distancing in mind.
