Delhi HC serves notices to YSRCP, ECI on party name
The Delhi High Court on Monday served notices to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and YSRCP after hearing the petition filed by Anna YSR Congress Party founder-president Sk Mahaboob Basha. In the petition, Basha alleged that the YSRCP is using his party name illegally and requested the High Court to direct the ECI to cancel Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party name. The High Court directed the YSRCP and ECI to file counter-affidavits before September 3 and adjourned the hearing. Earlier, Anna YSR Congress chief also submitted a complaint to the ECI.
