More than 7-8 Lakh Indians could be forced to leave Kuwait if a new expat bill had been implemented. Sources said that the Legal and Legislative Committee of the National Assembly of Kuwait has accepted the draft expat quota bill, according to which Indians do not cross 15 % of the population. The bill is to be passed to the relevant committee in order to draw up a detailed plan. The local media reported that the National Assembly's legal and legislative committee determined the draft bill is constitutional.
It is said that the bill will show its impact on 8 lakh Indians in Kuwait as 1.45 million Indians residing in Kuwait, as the largest expat community.
