AP govt moves SC against HC verdict in SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh issue
The Andhra Pradesh government will be filing a special leave petition in the Supreme Court on Monday against the verdict delivered by the AP High Court. The High Court on Friday struck down the state government’s ordinance reducing the tenure of the State Election Commissioner (SEC) and reinstated Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as SEC.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Mastan Vali has filed a caveat petition in the Apex Court seeking information if any orders passed in the SEC’s issue. Ramesh took charge on Friday itself. He has to discharge responsibility as the SEC for one more year.
