WHO pauses hydroxychloroquine trials citing safety concerns
Several studies are going on currently across the world on hydroxychloroquine and its use in COVID-19 treatment. World Health Organization has paused hydroxychloroquine trials citing safety concerns. It has released its statement stating that hydroxychloroquine may pose a death threat. WHO’s Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a press briefing that the recent Lancet study showed higher health risks and may invite other cardiac complications.
Earlier, a couple of days before, ICMR has released a statement stating that hydroxychloroquine is beneficial using it at the corona patients.
