AB Venkateswara Rao suspension: AP govt to challenge HC verdict in SC

The AP government is planning to challenge the High Court order on withdrawing suspension of senior IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao, who is in the rank of Director-General of Police, in the Supreme Court.
According to sources, the state government will place the Central Administrative Tribunal’s orders before the Supreme Court. The CAT gave verdict defending the state government’s decision to suspend AB Venkateswara Rao after irregularities surfaced in the procurement process of Aerostat and UAV worth Rs 25.5 crore. However, the High Court set aside the suspension of Rao.
