Legislation has been introduced in both the chambers of the U.S. Congress proposing major reforms in visa programs. Reports suggest that priority has been given to the U.S.-educated foreign technology professionals in H-1B work visas.
New H-1B legislation would protect American and foreign workers from exploitation. The new visa programs will also protect all workers from other means of abuses.
With this legislation, Indians are likely to be gained. The H-1B and L-1, Visa Reform Act with several modifications, requiring the US Citizenship and Immigration Services will allow US companies to employ foreign workers in a specialty occupation.
