South Africa has been adopting a five-phase strategy to flatten Covid-19 curve in their country. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced easing of the lockdown in five stages starting from May 1. The country was divided into five zones and lockdown restrictions are different for each zone based on the number of positive cases.
The idea of a five-level approach has gained worldwide attention and other countries want to follow the South African model to contain the spread of coronavirus and at the same time taking steps to revive the economy. Even, India is keen on following the South African strategy.
