Prof K Nageshwar: Can BCG vaccination protect India from coronavirus?
Prof K Nageshwar has shared a study conducted by the NYIT.
The BCG vaccine, administered to lakhs of Indian children soon after birth to protect against tuberculosis, could be a game-changer in the fight against the virus, say US scientists. The severity of impact may be linked to national policies on BCG childhood vaccination, the yet to be published study from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) states while citing the examples of Italy and the US. The WHO said that study can be taken into consideration as a hypothesis but not as a conclusion.
