Coronavirus update: Hydroxychloroquine off the shelves as demand spikes

The demand for drugs like hydroxychloroquine and anti-malaria medicine like chloroquine has risen after the US President Donald Trump and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) had recommended the use of hydroxychloroquine for treating suspected or confirmed coronavirus cases under certain special conditions. They have called them effective in treating COVID-19. Though the news of 'out of stock' of these drugs is in circulation, some of the leading companies IPCA, Zydus Cadila, have, however, reassured that there is enough supply to meet the demand.
