The police thrashed journalists, who went for media coverage, at Hanuman Junction near Vijayawada. Several reporters received injuries on hands and legs in the police assault. They objected to the police for manhandling journalists as they were exempted from coronavirus lockdown. Protesting police high-handedness, the journalists unions staged a stir in the middle of the road. There were several instances of police not allowing media personnel from performing their duties in Telugu states. Recently, cops in Hyderabad did not allow scribes on to the roads during lockdown.
