Ex-Minister Atchannaidu’s role in AP ESI medicine scam: Report - NTv

The Vigilance and Enforcement officials in their report said that Atchannaidu when he was Labour Minister in the TDP government gave tenders to two bogus companies on nomination basis. The report alleged that the ESI gave orders to bogus companies by taking fake quotations. ESI Directors Ramesh, Ravi Kumar and Vijaya gave directions to concerned officials to pay Rs 51 crore to bogus firms. The bogus companies quoted 136 per cent more than actual cost of medicines and medical instruments. In all, ESI Directors have paid excess of Rs 85 crore to bogus companies.
