YSRCP government has suffered a setback in AP Legislative Council as the Bills on three capitals have been referred to a select committee. It is learned for at least for another three months, Amaravati will continue to remain the state capital of Andhra Pradesh. AP Legislative Council Chairman M A Sharif referred to a select committee two bills aimed at creating three capitals for the state for deeper examination. It is a breather for the opposition TDP for fighting against the two bills i.e AP Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of All Regions Bill, 2020, and the AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) Act (Repeal) Bill. It is joyous moments for the Amaravati region for a time being and they have credited TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh for their fight against the state government. Both were welcomed in the Amaravati region in a grand manner. Former CM Chandrababu Naidu was showered with flowers at Mandadam village.
