The Indian Space Research Organisation has unveiled Vyommitra, a spacefaring human-robot that ISRO has been planning to send to space as part of test flights. ISRO will launch it after sending unmanned flights to space as part of the Gaganyaan project.
Vyommitra is a half-humanoid that can mimic human actions and can recognize the activity of a crew of astronauts. It is called half humanoid because it doesn't have legs. The robot can only bend sidewards and forward. According to the reports, ISRO has been aiming to send three Indians to space by 2022.
