Villages in and around Shirdi temple gave a call for indefinite bandh opposing the Maharashtra government’s decision to allocate Rs 100 crore for development of Pathri city, the birthplace of Sai Baba, in Parbhani district. They alleged that the government’s ploy is to popularise Pathri so that devotees will not give importance to Shirdi. The government accused BJP of instigating villagers. Meanwhile, Shirdi Trust PRO Mohan Yadav has clarified that temple will remain open. Temple trust members will be holding a meeting with villagers on Saturday evening.
