December 27th Going To Be A Special Day For AP?
A cabinet meeting is all set to be held in Visakhapatnam on December 27, to discuss the recommendations of the GN Rao committee. The ruling YSRCP said that its final decision on the state capital and other related issues would be announced on December 27. After the cabinet meeting, the state government is likely to issue an ordinance declaring Visakhapatnam the executive capital as the government has given enough hint announcing sops to Vizag worth over 350 crores. On the other hand, the farmers in Andhra Pradesh's Amaravati region came out on the streets to protest against the proposed move to shift the state capital to Visakhapatnam.
There are also reports of the agitated farmers reaching near the CM Camp office in Secretariat. It is likely that they may launch protests or may even attack at the YSRCP leaders who have been conducting a meeting in the CM Camp office. Police took the protesters into their custody and shifted them to other places. The meeting attended by the YSRCP MLAs and other key leaders of Krishna and Guntur district has been taking place under the supervision of the government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.
