Harsha Kumar, former MP of Amalapuram, has been arrested in a case of defamation and creating an obstruction to judicial staff for carrying out their activities. After medical examination, he was produced before the 7th additional Magistrate of Rajahmundry. The court has rejected Harshakumar's bail petition and remanded him 14-days remand. He was later taken to the Rajahmundry Central Jail. Harsha Kumar has alleged that he was arrested despite high court orders not to arrest him. On the other hand, his followers have been alleging that it is the ruling party's political revenge against their leader.
