A Story on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid Dispute
Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute dates back to many years ago. The dispute had started around 1857 but after1949, the act itself turned the site into a full-fledged dispute after the idols of Ram and his brother, Laxman, were secretly placed inside the central dome of the mosque. Several suits were filed in court during the period from 1950 to around 1961. Both Hindus and Muslims community filed cases disputing each other's claims of the land. The Allahabad High Court divided the 2.77-acre disputed site in 2010 among the three parties namely the Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla, but the problem could not be sorted out. Finally, the matter reached the Supreme Court.
