Setback For P Chidambaram, Top Court Says His Petition 'Infructuous' - NDTv

It is a setback for former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, as the Supreme Court has dismissed his plea against Delhi High Court order as ‘infructuous’ after the arrest. P Chidambaram, who was arrested on Wednesday in a corruption investigation received setback from the apex court as his petition challenging his CBI custody was not listed for a hearing today. The top court has made it clear that it told Chidambaram's lawyer Kapil Sibal that it would be listed after orders from Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi. The Supreme Court has also not accepted to take up his petition requesting protection from arrest by the CBI, that was filed on Wednesday.
