Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, Botsa Satyanarayana has courted controversy with his comments on Amaravati, the new State capital. At a media conference on Tuesday, the AP Minister said that the Sivaramakrishnan Committee appointed by the Union government was not in favor of setting up the capital at Amaravati, as it is flood-prone. He has alleged that former CM Chandrababu Naidu had ignored the said report and moved ahead with his own concept. AP Minister making such comments have fueled a political war between the main opposition TDP and the ruling YSRCP leaders.
ABN Media has presented a ground report on AP capital and the politics surrounding it, especially covering Kondaveeti Vagu Lift Irrigation Project, which is a threat to Amaravati.
