Reasons Behind World Bank's exit from Amaravati Project - ABN

The World Bank has reportedly pulled out Rs 2100 crores lendings to the Amaravati Capital City project in Andhra Pradesh. The project was criticized earlier as many e-mails were sent by the farmers to the World Bank in the form of complaints that their lands were confiscated by the government. Apart from this, some of the environmentalists have reportedly objected the various projects in the state capital region in the form of complaints. There are alleged reports that the Central government and the state government have not done proper exercise on it. It is also alleged that YS Jagan's government has not shown interest towards the World Bank officials, who have decided to come to Amaravati last month to monitor the development of the roads and other structures.
