According to a study by the Centre for Media Studies (CMS), a staggering Rs 60,000 crore was spent in the Lok Sabha elections, 2019. The figure announced by CMS is almost double the amount estimated for the last general polls in 2014, which was Rs 30,000. CMS study said that half of the voters present in West Godavari, East Godavari, Guntur and Krishna districts have received the minimum amount of Rs 2000 each. The Centre for Media Studies said out of 175 places, eighty places saw the distribution of money by means of middlemen. Nalgonda, Chevella and Malkajgiri constituencies witnessed much money flow in the Lok Sabha election 2019. Watch the video for more insight.
