The BJP-led NDA government has dismissed from service 12 senior Income Tax officers, including Joint Commissioner Ashok Agarwal, on charges of corruption, possession of disproportionate assets and professional misconduct, sources said. I-T officials removed from service by the President of India under a rarely used provision. The retired officials will get only pay and allowances for three months only and will not get pension benefits. The sources say the Modi government wants to dismiss officials, who are facing corruption charges, in other departments too.
