Between six to eight passengers travelling in a boat are believed to be drowned, as it capsized off Karwar coast, in Karnataka. Nine others have been rescued by Navy and Coast Guard. The victims were on their way to visit Kurmagad island, 3 k.m. from the coast in Arabian Sea. There is a temple there, which opens just for two days in a year. More than 25,000 people visit the temple every year to offer pujas. There were at least 25 people in the boat.
