Two women below the age of 50 have entered Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala at 3.45 am in the early hours of Wednesday and offered prayers. They were identified as Bindu and Kanakadurga aged 40. On December 18, both women had tried to enter the temple but they were obstructed by protesters. The Supreme Court gave a verdict of allowing girls and women into the temple in between the age group of 10 and 50. The police personnel provided security for women. It is for the first time that women have entered the temple amidst protest from a section of people.
