The Goods and Services Tax department has attached the bank accounts of Telugu actor Mahesh Babu, as he has reportedly not paid the Service Tax during 2007-08 for the taxable services he was associated with various products as a brand ambassador and advertised for the promotion of products among others. The GST department has attached bank accounts of the actor in Axis Bank and ICICI Bank for an amount of Rs. 73.5 lakhs. This amount includes tax, interest and penalty. It is also said that some more film celebs are going to get shocker from GST soon as Central Board of Direct Taxation(CBDT) has been monitoring the same issue.
