Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the petition by Telangana government that the quota of reservations for all categories should be 67 per cent. It has been 50 per cent earlier and will remain so, without change, the SC said. However, Telangana government has promised Muslims and other backward classes more percentage of reservations. It had been a part of the election manifesto this time. Centre too is against such reservations it is learnt. Both Prime Minister (PM) Modi and BJP chief, Amit Shah ruled out any higher reservations for Muslims.
