Gangadevipalli, a small village in the Warangal district of Telangana, is one of India's model villages, where no one defecates in the open, as the citizens consider hygiene and sanitation as part of their values. From regular power and water supply to a scientific water filtration plant, this model village has managed to work in harmony towards the green goals set collectively by the village people. In the year 2000 itself, 250 households in the village had individual toilets. Warangal District Collector Haritha said even aged, who prefer open defecation, are using toilets.
