Representatives of the Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) have met officials of the Industries Department and expressed willingness to set up a paper and packaging industry in Prakasam district. The Indonesian-based APP is one of the largest paper producing companies in the world. The APP representatives have finalised 2000-acre site in Prakasam district. The unit will be coming up at a cost of Rs 21,000 crore with an annual production capacity of 3 million tonnes. The APP management has selected AP due to the availability of raw material in Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna and Nellore districts.
