Ex-Supreme Court (SC) judge, Jasti Chelameswar explained why there cannot be a revolutionary change in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) or judicial system in the country. Most of the salient features in Indian Constitution have been adapted from Western judicial system. The various tenets of the Constitution are put in place, even as the society is growing. Indian philosophy and justice system has never been practised. As long as the society remains unequal, in whichever judicial system, the priniciples laid down in the Constitution will apply.
