ISRO launches GSLV Mk 111, GSAT 29 put in orbit - ABN

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman, Sivan said that in a year from now, the first Indian will be put into space for the very first time. Earlier, ISRO successfully launched GSLV Mk 111 D2, carrying the latest communication satellite, GSAT 29. The rocket blasted off at 5.08 p.m. from Sriharikota space station in Nellore. GSAT-29 carrying Ka and Ku band high throughput transponders intended to meet communication requirements of users, including in the North East and in Jammu and Kashmir, was also successfully placed in orbit.
