2015-like heat wave might strike India again: Report

India could face heat wave conditions like that of 2015, in which hundreds of people died, says a review report by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The world temperature levels could go up by 2 degrees C, by 2030, the report said. The climate change will hit living standards of at least 600 million Indians, World Bank predicted. The rise in temperatures would mean deadlier heat waves in India and Pakistan, Rise in vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue, mega cities getting heat stressed and increase in poverty.
