Odisha is facing the brunt of cyclone storm Daye and is likely to get no respite from the same for the next twelve hours, the MeT department stated on Friday. The cyclone crossed the coast at Gopalpur in Odisha, in the wee hours on Friday. The storm triggered heavy rainfall accompanied by winds in many parts of the state. The wind speed is low but rainfall is very heavy to heavy. They are lashing all parts of Odisha and the northern district of Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. The rainfall has flooded many roads in towns and inundated lowlying areas.
