Lift project to turn 'Stream of Sorrow' into boon for Amravati

The Kondaveeti Vaagu, a hill river is called the 'stream of sorrow' due to its regular floods which flood thousands of acres in the regions of Thatikonda and Mangalagiri. However, a unique lift pumping project has come in to the rescue by pumping the floodwaters to Prakasam barrage and the other canals of Krishna river, protecting the region from regular flooding. This project will not only protect the crops from the floods, but also the upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati. Watch the video for more details.
