Heavy rains and floods will lead to huge loss to lives and property in the next 10 years in the country, predicted National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), that is a Central Government governed body. After surveying several flood prone areas all over the country, NDMA said that at least 16,000 people will perish in floods in the next 10 years. Property worth over Rs. 47 crs. will be destroyed, it said. All because of governments neglecting preventive measures, natury's fury will prove costly, it predicted.
