Monsanto to pay $289 million to groundskeeper with cancer

Sat, Aug 11, 2018, 09:48 AM
Agrochemical company Monsanto is due to pay a sum of 289 million dollars to DeWayne Johnson, who claims that using one of their product as a groundskeeper caused his cancer, after a decision made by the San Francisco Supreme Court on Friday. But, a representative of Monsanto said that they will appeal the verdict in higher courts as their products are safe and have been used worldwide for the last 40 years. Not a single reputable organisation has told their products caused cancer, he added.
