New research findings by scientists at the University of Toledo in the US now describe how the blue light from laptops, smartphones, TVs and tablets amongst other digital devices can damage our vision and speed up blindness. The blue light from the screens is said to trigger macular degeneration- an incurable condition affecting the middle part of our vision and gradually cause damage to our eyes. Scientists advise people to wear sunglasses that can filter both UV and blue light outside and to avoid browsing mobiles and tablets in the dark.
