The Supreme Court imposed Rs 2 crore fine on Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences at Vikarabad in Telangana State for not following the norms of the MCI. After inspecting the Mahavir Medical College, the MCI recommended the Centre not to give renew permission. Once again Mahavir management had urged the MCI to visit the college for inspection. The MCI found lapses like no resident doctors and inadequate teaching faculty and rejected their application for renewal. The college management filed a petition in the Apex Court alleging the MCI was not giving renewal for 2018-19 year.
