Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked officials to examine whether transgenders can be recruited as security guards at short stay homes and other similar facilities for women. This is perhaps after multiple cases of rape and molestation have been reported across the state. A transgender woman Reshma explained that during the meeting with the Chief Minister, they have tried to bring the issues faced by the transgender community and that they do not have any means of employment. Reshma further said that it is important for the government to give them 2 per cent reservation.
