Union minister Nithin Gadkari said that sea water would soon be converted to drinking water, which would be available for Rs. 3 paise per litre. It will first be used in urban areas and later it will be seen if the water could be used for agricutural purposes, Gadkari said. As India has a lengthy sea coast, the innovation might come in use in the areas close to the sea, he said. He was in Andhra Pradesh (AP) to inspect the Polavaram project works and review them alongwith the state officials.
