Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, who wanted to meet Union minister, Nithin Gadkari were not allowed to do so by Andhra Pradesh (AP) Police. The leaders said that the police quoted security reasons and did not allow them to meet their party leader. They wanted to meet Gadkari and give him a memorandum regarding Polavaram project, they said. Only some of them were given passes and allowed inside. However, they too could not meet Gadkari. Police had cordoned off the area where Gadkari's chopper landed, to avoid untoward incidents, it is said.
