Water level in River Godavari, from Basar to Bhadrachalam, is on the rise since Monday morning, due to increasing inflows from its catchment area. The water level in the river rose to 27 ft. at Bhadrachalam on Tuesday, as against 20.3 ft. on Monday evening. Heavy rains are lashing the river catchment areas in neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh (AP), Odisha, Chhattisgagh and in Telangana. While tributaries like Pranahita too are flooded, water has overflown into Kaaleshwaram project sites at several points.
