Farm loans to the tune of Rs. 34,000 crs. have been waived off, as part of the promise made in the election manifestos, in Karnataka. Chief Minister (CM) H.D.Kumaraswamy, who introduced a full-fleged budget of his government today made an announcement to this effect. But there is a limit on how much of the loan amount per farmer, would be waived, which is Rs. 2 lakh. Additionally, those farmers who had not defaulted in repaying their loans, will get Rs. 25,000 per month by the government.
